About Iron Range Custom Rods

In 2016, Keith Altobelli set out to develop his own lineup of ice fishing rods
which reflected his personal fishing styles as well as offered anglers with unique rods not found from other manufacturers. Keith worked with a reputable fishing components manufacturer and designer, Batson Enterprises, to prototype and develop six unique rod blanks produced solely for Iron Range Custom Rods.

After 5 years of building rods for thousands of anglers, Keith sold the company to current owners and lifelong friends Connor Croft, Garrett Ulman, Josh Eddy, Jared Dahl, and Noah Erickson. 

In the fishing industry, the concept of "custom rods" is loosely used by a variety of companies, often times merely meaning a generic rod blank purchased from a rod components retailer. At Iron Range Custom Rods, we strive to uphold the idea that custom fishing rods should be truly custom by offering the following customizations without extra costs:

• Each rod blank is unique to IRC and can be purchased in two colors.
• Rods are cut-to-length as desired by the angler to fit their angling preferences.
• Guides are high quality stainless steel wire in two colors.
• Handles come in two styles unique to IRC, in either EVA foam or Cork. Two additional options are also available for further customization.
• All rods are hand-wrapped with the highest quality thread in 40 different color variations.
